SecondCall ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application and web service that delivers race call push notifications to athletes, families, and coaches at track and field and cross country meets. Our website is secondcall.app. You can reach us at hello@secondcall.app.
Parents, Families, Athletes, and Coaches (App Users)
We collect no personal information from you. When you use the SecondCall app to subscribe to race call notifications, we store only an anonymous device token provided by Apple or Google to deliver push notifications to your phone. This token is hashed (cryptographically scrambled) before storage and cannot be used to identify you. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal information.
Meet Directors (Web Dashboard Users)
Meet directors create accounts to set up and manage meets. Directors may sign up with an email address and password, or using Google Sign-In. We collect:
This information is used solely to authenticate you and associate meets with your account. We do not send marketing emails.
PA Announcers and Meet Officials
Announcers and officials access the system using disposable access codes. No account is created and no personal information is collected.
We designed SecondCall with data minimization as a core principle.
SecondCall does not collect any personal information from children under the age of 13, or from anyone using the parent-facing app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The app does not require account creation, and no information about athletes or their families is stored in identifiable form. We believe this design fully complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@secondcall.app and we will delete it promptly.
Push notifications are delivered via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), a service provided by Google. FCM receives an anonymous device token to route notifications to your device. FCM's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share any additional information with FCM beyond what is required to deliver notifications.
You can opt out of push notifications at any time by adjusting your device's notification settings for the SecondCall app.
The SecondCall website and web dashboard use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time spent, device type, browser, and approximate geographic location (derived from IP address). This data is aggregated and used to improve the product. It is not linked to any personal identity for app users.
Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to distinguish visitors and track sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using a browser with tracking protection enabled.
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any other tracking technology beyond Google Analytics.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we store. Device tokens are hashed before storage. Meet director passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never accessible to us in plaintext. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). That said, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because we collect so little information, most standard privacy rights (access, correction, portability) do not apply to app users — there is simply no personal data associated with your use of the app.
Meet directors may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their account data at any time by contacting hello@secondcall.app. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the CCPA respectively. Please contact us with any questions or requests.
SecondCall is a supplemental notification service and is not a replacement for official PA announcements at meets. Race call notifications are provided on a best-effort basis. We are not responsible for missed events due to delayed or undelivered notifications, device settings, poor internet connectivity, or any other technical or human factors.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify meet directors via their registered email address. Your continued use of SecondCall after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
